Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Reports To: Systems Engineering Manager
Position Summary:

This candidate filling this position will develop software for Applied Precision's life sciences products. The candidate must be self-motivated, self-directed and able to function in a small, fast-paced development team.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
  • Primary software development role for new and existing life sciences products.
  • Responsible for Software research, development, alpha/beta testing, and production release.
  • Troubleshoot and revise modules as required based on internal and external performance results.
Qualifications:
  • B.S.C.S. or equivalent, postgraduate education will be a plus.
  • 7+ years minimum programming experience
  • Strong Java Swing desktop applications experience.
  • Strong C#/.NET desktop applications experience; C# best-practices, custom user controls, owner-drawn controls.
  • Experience with instrumentation interface programming.
  • Familiarity with the development of graphics, and image processing modules is a plus.
  • A highly self-motivated and a solid team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
