Applied Precision Announces New Products for Life Sciences Microscopy at the 110th American Society for Microbiology meeting in San Diego, CA, May 23-26th.
ISSAQUAH, Wash., May 23th, 2010 – Applied Precision, a leading provider of advanced microscopy imaging systems for the Life Sciences research and OEM markets, announced today that it introduced exciting new capabilities for both the DeltaVision Core and PersonalDV systems at ASM 2010. These new products provide new capabilities that dramatically improve fixed and live cell imaging. They include the InsightSSI solid state illumination unit, the patent pending UltimateFocus hardware based autofocus, the X4 Laser Module, and Multi-line TIRF imaging.
"These pioneering new capabilities not only solidify our DeltaVision platform as the ideal microscopy imaging system for fixed and live cell imaging, but also enable exciting new applications like single molecule imaging and high resolution FRET biosensor imaging" stated Joe Victor, President and CEO.
Applied Precision also introduced the DeltaVision|OMX SR, a new addition to the DeltaVision|OMX product line. The DeltaVision|OMX is a ground-breaking super-resolution microscopy system that more than doubles the optical resolution of traditional light microscopy. This high resolution capability is especially important to microbiologists, as the organisms they study are exceptionally small and difficult for conventional microscopy methods. In the past year, Applied Precision has sold and installed DeltaVision|OMX platforms in all major countries in North America, Europe and Asia. "The positive response to DeltaVision|OMX from the scientific community has been overwhelming", stated Ian Clements, Sr. Product Manager at Applied Precision. "They are generating data that was previously out of reach in their research and we are pleased to now offer a more cost effective system to increase accessibility to the scientific community. The DeltaVision|OMX SR provides that solution."
